Position Overview
The ARM Institute is seeking a Systems & Security Administrator to support the security, reliability, and administration of the Institute's technology environment. This position will play a key role in managing enterprise security technologies, cloud and infrastructure platforms, network systems, and technical cybersecurity controls.
The Systems & Security Administrator will be responsible for administering Microsoft security technologies, including Defender XDR, Purview, and Entra ID security controls, while collaborating with the User Systems Administrator on Intune and Autopilot deployment activities. The position will also support ARM's cloud-hosted repository servers, Linux systems, networking infrastructure, vulnerability management, and incident response.
This role is an important member of ARM's IT team and will help maintain the technical controls and system configurations necessary to support ARM's cybersecurity and CMMC compliance requirements.

Responsibilities
Security Administration and Cybersecurity
- Administer and maintain Microsoft Defender XDR and Microsoft Purview.
- Manage Microsoft Entra ID security controls, including Conditional Access.
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Support vulnerability identification, remediation, and ongoing security management.
- Maintain technical security controls supporting ARM's CMMC compliance requirements.
- Assist in maintaining secure system configurations and cybersecurity standards across the organization.
- Administer ARM's cloud-hosted repository server infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain Linux server/system environments.
- Administer and support network infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and systems-related issues and implement appropriate resolutions.
- Support the reliability and operational continuity of ARM's technology environment.
- Collaborate with the User Systems Administrator on Microsoft Intune and Autopilot configuration and system deployment.
- Support secure identity and access management practices within Microsoft Entra ID.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of security policies affecting endpoints, identities, and enterprise systems.
- Maintain technical controls and system configurations required to support CMMC compliance.
- Collaborate with the Director of Information Technology and other IT team members on cybersecurity, infrastructure, and compliance initiatives.
- Support documentation and technical evidence associated with cybersecurity and compliance activities.
- Participate in incident response, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Five (5) or more years of systems administration experience.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 security technologies.
- Experience managing network infrastructure.
- Experience administering Linux systems.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems, infrastructure, and security-related issues.
- Strong organizational, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Microsoft security certification(s).
- CompTIA Security+, Network+, Linux+, or comparable certification(s).
- Experience administering AWS environments.
- Experience supporting GitHub Enterprise.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender XDR, Purview, Entra ID, Conditional Access, Intune, and/or Autopilot.
- Experience working in a CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, or similarly regulated cybersecurity environment.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity incident response and vulnerability management.
